Sci-Fi Quiz match
We will do a SF team quiz as a mixer. Questions will vary from well known SF gadgets to very difficult, maniacal ones. Everyone has a chance to win and get a special ribbon. You'll need teams with both Japanese and English speakers to win, so mix with the other fans!【BLOG】
Movie Trailer Park
We will be showing trailers from upcoming SF, Fantasy & Horror Movie (and a TV program) to be released in spring - summer in Japan. The trailers are from Asmik Ace Entertainment, Kadokawa Pictures, Gaga, THE KLOCKWORX, Sony Pictures Japan, Disney Studios Japan, Toei, Toho Towa, Paramount Pictures Japan, and Presidio.
Panel discussion: Charles Stross and Akinobu Sakai.
Charles Stross and the Japanese translator of Accerelando, Akinobu Sakai, talk about anything and everything. For example, How were those the future freaky geeky words in Accerelando’s original English version translated into Japanese?【BLOG】

Ever wanted to play god? Here's your chance! Along with your fellow HAL-CON members, design a world from scratch, from the physical formation of the planet to the civilizations that that evolve there. If there are enough members, we will break into 2 groups each designing their own world, and if time permits, we may even have a "First Contact" scenario.
