Naohiro Washio was born in 1972, and grew up in Niigata prefecture. He has worked in various fields including anime, illustration, manga and many others, but he is most widely known for his machine designs and illustrations.
His cover art has adorned the Japanese book covers of Alastair Reynolds' novels since 'Revelation Space'.
His works include: 'Stellvia'(mechanic design), 'Fafner in the Azure'(mechanic and prop design), 'Mobile Suit Gundam 00'(mechanic design), 'Bodacious Space Pirates'(mechanic design), 'Ginga Kojiki Gundan Reimei-hen'series (cover art), 'Chikyu Ido Sakusen'(cover art), 'Infinite Space'(spaceship design).
