Room 7-9

11:00~   Opening program
The Opening program is the very first program to start up Hal-con 2013.
We will introduce our Guests of Honor, our programs, and then will have a Quiz game with all attendees competing in teams.

12:00~   JAXA Program 'The achievement of the 'Daichi' satellite, and the status and the future of the 'Shizuku' satellite.
This year's Hal-con is held in Saitama prefecture. In Saitama prefecture, JAXA's Earth Observation Research Center is operating in Hatoyama-cho. A researcher from Earth Observation Research Center will have a talk regarding 'Daichi' satellite and 'Shizuku' satellite. Earth Observation Research Center will be open to public on 11th May.

14:00~   The 4th Sogen Science Fiction Short Story Contest Final Selection Meeting
The final selection meeting of 'The 4th Sogen Science Fiction Short Story Contest' to select the aspiring new writer will be held at Hal-con, open to Hal-con members. The selection committee Nozomi Oomori, Sanzo Kusaka, and EnJoe Toh will evaluate the final nominees and announce the winners.

12:00~   Super Time Space Con-Site Varicon
The place where the chair is in is the Varicon con-site. This time I would like to reveal the untold stories of Varicon, and will have question from the audience. What happened during the preparation to the convention? The reason why the dead dog party is still not happening.....

13:30~   KOICON ROOM, the 52 Japanese SF Convention
In addition to explaining KOIKON, the 52 Japanese SF Convention, and the programming planned for it, we will introduce (useful?) information about Hiroshima where KOIKON will take place. With this information in-hand, KOIKON and Hiroshima will become more fun and interesting!… maybe.

15:30~   A room of Local Conventions
There are many small local SF conventions all around Japan. We will introduce these local conventions and how to enjoy them.

12:00~   A room of Paranormal Romance
Paranormal Romance is very popular in western world, however it is not so in Japan. We would like to introduce interesting Paranormal Romance novels and talk about it.

13:30~   Get To Know the Guests of Honor
This will be an interview of the two Guests of Honor designed to help you learn more about them.  There will also be time set aside for them to take audience questions.

15:00~   Interview with Gay Haldeman
What's it like to live with a famous SF author? Aspiring writer Regina Glei will talk with Joe Haldeman's wife Gay about her exciting SF journey together with Joe.

Guest of Honor Joe Haldeman will read an excerpt from his novelettes in Hal-con Books 'Blood Sisters'.Japanese participant will also read translated Japanese version.

13:30~   Build The World
Ever wanted to play god? Here's your chance!Along with your fellow HAL-CON members, design a world from scratch, from the physical formation of the planet to the civilizations that that evolve there.This year we will have more time to discuss.

15:30~   The Association for the Advancement of Science Fiction and Fantasy Program, Bibliobattle
We want children and young people to learn the joys of SF!  We will help build the future generations of SF Fans by donating SF books to elementary school libraries and holding Bibliobattles with students.  (A Bibliobattle is a competition to see who can give the best introduction of a book in a given amount of time.)

13:00~  Sound of Anime
The slim type television does not have good speakers. I would like to demonstrate the actual sounds of Anime using Bose Solo TV sound system playing several Anime Blu-ray packages.
